I paint the horizon of the wanderer, the sky, the land and the sea, but at the same time the transience of the surrounding reality. All my pictures are fleeting impressions in a way.

The My Shadow exhibition explores the depths of the mind and the unconscious – the landscape of the paintings symbolically depicts the human mind. The works draw on Carl G. Jung's theories, such as the shadow, individuation and ego, utilizing a Jungian approach. The exhibition is the artist's first appearance in Vaasa.

Raija Jokinen builds her works one fiber at a time, aiming to portray situations, twists and feelings of being. At the center of the works is a human figure – typical, common, anyone – where internal and environmental moods meet. The external influences the internal and the internal influences the external.

Teemailta torstaina 28.8. klo 18–20 järjestetään yhteistyössä taiteilija Marjo Hyvärisen ja Pohjanmaan syöpäyhdistyksen kanssa. Illan aikana Marjo Hyvärinen esittelee näyttelynsä ja kertoo omasta tarinastaan etäyhteyden kautta. Pohjanmaan syöpäyhdistyksen edustaja kertoo yhdistyksen toiminnasta ja keskustelee yleisön kanssa.
