Eadem mutata resurgo [Same - but changed - (i) rise]

an alchemical principle which, loosely translated, means ‘although changed, I remain the same’.

Maja Jantar is an interdisciplinary, multilingual and polysonic artist living in Isokyrö, Finland, whose work spans the fields of visual arts, poetry, performance, music, ceramics, and opera. She is Interested in creating connections, in engaging with the more than human, using various media, with interest in hybrid forms, poetics, ecology, history, rituals, and arts as a form of ritual.

Jantar’s craft is one of engaging with her natural surroundings, mapping their rhythms and entering into resonance with them, Since 2022, when she settled in Finland, she started studying the specific light changes in her new home environment, and developed a practice of ‘becoming with’ the land(scape) through observation, documentation and engagement. She incorporates local organic materials and local clay into her work.
